Counterfeit Bill

The profile image is taken from a daguerreotype self-portrait of William Anastasi, the artist’s life-partner since 1974. His image supplants Benjamin Franklin’s portrait on a US one hundred-dollar bill. The subject and title of the work comes from one of Anastasi’s light-hearted self-referential remarks from an earlier time.
