Spent Bullets

In 1979 as a political statement a .38 caliber lead spent bullet was cast in silver and made into a pair of earrings. Another .38 caliber lead bullet was cast in silver, crimped into a cartridge, then shot and retrieved by the artist at a New York Police Department firing range. The silver bullet and earrings were photographed along with a NYPD bullet in cartridge originally for this photo-etching.                       Number 1: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
